Maharashtra's Chief Electoral Officer has asked the Election Commission to amend Form 6 so voters deleted during the SIR can re-enrol without a 'new voter' declaration.

The Election Commission on 15 October 2026 ordered a Special Summary Revision of voter rolls in 17 states and UTs; draft rolls on 12 November, final on 4 January 2027.
