Karnataka's Deputy CM G. Parameshwara said on October 19, 2026 the drought is extremely serious; the state puts crop losses at Rs 46,324.5 crore and awaits central funds.

Maharashtra on October 14, 2026 added 40 talukas to its drought list, taking it to 305 of 358, and said farmers will get Rs 5,000 each in their accounts before Diwali.
