Indian 5% broken parboiled rice rose to $384-389 a tonne in mid-October 2026, a one-year-plus high, as estimates point to a 6.5% drop in output.

NOAA said on October 15, 2026 a strengthening El Niño will likely last through spring 2027, as Indian states battle drought and the Centre trims its rabi grain target.
