Jason Statham, Guy Ritchie reunite for Netflix revenge film Dogfight

Jason Statham and director Guy Ritchie are reuniting for Dogfight, a revenge action film for Netflix set in London's criminal underworld, Netflix announced in early November 2026. Ritchie will write, direct and produce the film, and Statham is so far the only confirmed cast member. Filming is due to begin in the United Kingdom in early 2027. Dogfight will be the seventh film the two have made together and their first made for Netflix. The streamer has not released a plot synopsis, other cast members or a release date.

Dogfight continues one of the longest-running director–actor partnerships in action cinema: Ritchie and Statham have made six films together before it, and this is their seventh. Setting it in London's criminal underworld, with revenge at its centre, signals the kind of crime story the pair are known for, and Netflix is betting that the combination draws viewers around the world.

For Netflix, the film strengthens an existing relationship with Ritchie. His crime series The Gentlemen is already one of the platform's titles: its second season arrived on 3 September 2026 and a third season is in production, according to reports. Bringing his long-time lead actor into a Netflix film continues that partnership and gives the streamer an action title with two recognisable names.

The deal is also built around the two men as producers, not only as director and star. Ritchie's Toff Guy Films and Statham's Punch Palace are production partners alongside Black Bear, and Ritchie, Statham, Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg are all named producers. That gives the director and the lead actor a share of control over the project from the start.

For viewers in India, the film will stream on Netflix as in other countries once it is released. However, with filming not starting until early 2027 and no release date given, it is likely to be some time before it reaches screens.

Peepals timeline: The second season of Ritchie's Netflix series The Gentlemen arrived on 3 September 2026, with a third season already in production, according to reports. In early November 2026, Netflix announced Dogfight, the seventh Ritchie–Statham film and their first for the streamer. Filming is due to begin in the UK in early 2027. Netflix has not given a release date, so any date before the end of filming would be guesswork.

Short-term: Fans can expect casting announcements and possibly a plot outline in the coming months, before filming starts in 2027.

Long-term: If Dogfight performs well for Netflix, it could lead to more films from the pair for the streamer, adding to Ritchie's existing work for the platform.

Who is affected: Netflix subscribers and fans of Statham and Ritchie worldwide, including in India; the production companies involved; and UK crews and locations where filming will take place.

What to watch next: Casting announcements and the start of filming in early 2027.
