Senate and House bills filed in October 2026 would raise the H-1B salary line for exempt workers at H-1B-dependent firms from $60,000 to about $140,000. It is not a minimum wage.

DHS proposed on 14 October 2026 to scrap the rule that makes officers defer to earlier approvals in H-1B and L-1 extensions; comments close 13 November.
