Tamil Nadu Paddy

Tamil Nadu on October 24, 2026 ordered district control rooms, drain clearing and covered stocks at procurement centres to protect standing and harvested paddy from rain.

A 26-kg bag of Ponni rice in Tamil Nadu rose from about Rs 1,400 in July to Rs 1,900 in October 2026 as paddy arrivals fell, traders say.
